The Stadsarchief Leuven (City Archives of Leuven) keeps and manages the archives of the city administration of Leuven and their oldest piece dates nack to the 12th century. This city archives offers all kinds of collections to give insight into the history of Leuven: in the archive library one can find an extensive collection of historical literature on Leuven and its surroundings, the Leuven newspaper collection, posters, porcelain cards, maps and plans, photographs, picture postcards and drawings.
