First Charters from the Pauline Monasteries on Monasterium

This fall, the publishing of the charters from the Pauline Monasteries – held by the Croatian State Archives (CSA) – started. These charters are deemed to be one of the most valuable archival sources held by the CSA. Partly, because some of them originate from the turbulent medieval period and partly, because some of them were written in the Glagolitic script, which gives  them an exceptional place in the Croatian cultural heritage. The charters of the Pauline Monastery of St. Jelena can now already be accessed freely on the Monasterium portal –  the publishing of further charters from further Pauline Monasteries will follow soon!
