Invitation to the presentation of the results of the conference “En route to a shared identity”

From 16 – 17 September 2014 the international conference En route to a shared identity. Sources on the history of Central Europe in the Digital Age analyzed the possibilities of researching the joint history of Central Europe by means of digitization and provision of archival fonds from the Middle Ages up to modern times.

In order to present the results of given conference and subject matter, a blog has been set up publishing the German presentations which for the first time introduce the archival fonds of the “Böhmische Krone” (Bohemian Crown), the collection “Historica Třeboň” and contributions from the special research field of digital cartography, the cartularies of the history of ecclesiastical ownership, the correspondance of Ottoman civil servants with the Hapsburg monarchy and many more.

After a prefacing illustration on the cross-border experiences of the International Centre for Archival Research by Dr. Aigner (president of ICARUS), Prof. Dr. Krah and Dr. Eggeling from the University of Vienna will first fathom the benefits of the format “blog” for the scientific working field and finally present the blog which was set up for the conference. The rest of the evening invites all participants to network over a glass of wine and snacks.

The link to the event’s programme and the conference blog (in German) can be found here.

The event will be in German.
